This year's Dinner in the Hilton Hotel was a grand and glorious occasion. A further eight football legends were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The 2008 inductees were:
- John Thomson (1908 - 31) Position: Goalkeeper. Clubs: Celtic.
- Bill Struth (1873 - 1956) Position: Manager, Clubs: Rangers
- Billy Liddell (1922 - 2001) Position: Outside left, Centre forward. Clubs: Liverpool.
- Jim Leighton (1958 - ) Position: Goalkeeper. Clubs: Aberdeen, Manchester United, Dundee, Hibernian.
- Derek Johnstone (1953 - ) Position: Centre forward, Central defender. Clubs: Rangers, Chelsea, Dundee Utd (on loan).
- Bobby Evans (1927 - 2001) Position: Right half, Centre half. Clubs: Celtic, Chelsea, Newport County, Morton, Third Lanark, Raith Rovers
- Archie Gemmill (1947 - ) Position: Midfielder. Clubs: St Mirren, Preston North End, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Jacksonville Tea Men, Wigan Athletic.
- Ian St John (1938 - ) Position: Centre forward. Clubs: Motherwell, Liverpool

Archie Gemmill forever remembered as the scorer of the wonder goal against Holland in the 1978 World Cup said: “I’m a lot more than that one goal. I was conscious that being inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame I was going in alongside some of the best players and managers there has ever been.”
Liverpool FC legend Ian St John commented: “It is such an honour to be included along side so many wonderfully gifted players and managers.”
Ex-Rangers player Derek Johnstone said: “ It is obviously a very proud moment for me to be inducted in the Hall of Fame with so many greats to have graced our game.”
